Bison hoping for a triple whammy

The Sherfield School Basingstoke Bison have a triple header of action this weekend, with first and last games on the road, while in between on Saturday they face the league leaders Telford Tigers on home ice.

The trio of fixtures starts with the Herd's first visit to Milton Keynes this season on Friday night (face-off 7.30pm).

The Bison hope Lightning will strike for a third time having already beaten MK twice in Basingstoke this campaign.

The result would do very nicely for the Herd's cup aspirations, as they need a point to make the final four of this year's competition.

On Saturday (face-off 6.30pm), the Bison will be looking to break their winless streak and tame the Tigers this time.

The impressive Shropshire outfit won on their first visit to Hampshire this season and have since chalked up two wins on their home ice.

On Sunday (face off 5pm), the Bison are on the road again to Blackpool, looking to maintain their winning streak against the Manchester Phoenix.

The Herd are expected to still be without experienced defenceman Joe Baird and British forward Shaun Thompson this week switched from the Bison to the Bees.

Looking ahead to the weekend, head coach Doug Sheppard said: "It is going to be a tough weekend playing three in a row. We will focus on each game as it comes and look to get a result in each. We know against Milton Keynes we need at least a point and it is never easy playing in their barn.

"I felt we have got better against Telford in each time we have played them this season and we are now playing well at home, backed by our great fans."

Tickets for what should be another exciting game on Saturday are still available from the box office on (01256) 355266 or from the Bison website.
