Bison ready to douse Flames

The Sherfield School Basingstoke Bison will be out to douse the Guildford Flames when they come to town on Saturday.

When last in Hampshire, the Surrey side won 2-0, with former Herd man Dean Skinns getting the shut-out.

This week the Bison have beefed up both their defence and forward lines with signings of Dan Scott, Joe Miller and Joe Rand.

Miller and Rand are no strangers to Basingstoke and both were fans' favorities when here before.

Defenceman Scott is new to the Herd and makes a quick return to Basingstoke, after playing for Telford last weekend in Basingstoke.

These additions will certainly add even more spire to this local derby with the action getting underway at 6.30pm.

Meanwhile Yanya Antonov misses the game as he in on international duty with Great Britain under-20s in Hungary.

Looking ahead to what should be another great derby game, Bison head coach Doug Sheppard said: "Guildford are the only team we have not beaten this season, so it would be nice to put that right on Saturday. I expect a tough game, but they always are when Guildford come to our barn."

Tickets for what is sure to be an early Christmas cracker of a game are still on sale from the box office on (01256) 355266 or from the Bison website.
