CHRISTMAS PREVIEW: Bison look for purr-fect end to great year

The Sherfield School Basingstoke Bison will be looking for the purr-fect end to the year they were crowned league champions, as they take on the Swindon Wildcats in a double header.

The teams first square up on Boxing Day with the Herd hoping to land the knock-out punch on home ice and take two more points.

Then a day later, the sides clash again this time at the Link Centre.

The game in Basingstoke on Boxing Day starts at 6.30pm, while in Swindon the game starts at 4pm.

The Bison will be keen to build on their double success against the Bracknell Bees and have already beaten the Wildcats both home and away this season.

The Herd will be at full strength for the contest, against a side who also won their last outing with an excellent victory in Hull.

So both sides will be full of confidence ahead of the game, with the Bison focused on maintaining third spot in the EPL and Wildcats hoping to move up from seventh.

Looking ahead to another double header of action Bison head coach Doug Sheppard said: "We know Swindon are a dangerous team with many offensively weapons, backed by a great goaltender in Stevie Lyle. We have to make sure we stay out of the penalty box, as we have been hurt before by the Swindon powerplay. Both games are going to be tough, but we really want to, start to string some results together."

Tickets for what is sure to be a real Christmas treat are still available from the Bison box office on (01256) 355266 or from the Bison website.
