Bison visit Pirates and return with the treasure

After half the play off group stages the Sherfield School Basingstoke Bison found themselves in second place and started the second three of the group games with a road trip to Hull Pirates.

Derek Roehl gave the Herd the start they wanted when he netted just 74 seconds into the game but the first period would end tied thanks to a powerplay goal from Pirates' James Chilcott.

The second period also couldn't separate the teams as Joe Rand's go ahead goal, score unassisted, at 26.18 was equaled by the Pirates second powerplay goal, scored by Andrej Themar at 30.36

It was in the final period where the teams finally split and the Bison pulled ahead. Captain Aaron Connolly scored a powerplay goal at 47.23 and when Pirates took their timeout and later left the net empty with 1.22 to play it took Derek Roehl just 5 seconds to find the target and bag his second of the night.
