Sheppard wins coach of the year

The Sherfield School Basingstoke Bison would like to pass on its congratulations to Doug Sheppard, after our Director of Hockey was named Coach of the Year at last night's Energise Me Awards.

Doug had been nominated for the award after claiming local honours and picked up the trophy at Southampton Football Club.

The award is fully deserved after another incredible year at the club. In clinching our first league title since 1993, Doug has led the team to great success, never finishing outside the top three since returning to the club in 2012, as well as the memorable double-winning season in 2013-14.

He has also helped create the Bison Development Path - giving junior players a clear view at their progression up to the senior side, as well as helping nurture some of the best talent in the EPIHL.

Here's hoping Doug and the team will be celebrating more success in the coming weeks, with EPIHL Playoff success firmly on the team's mind.
