Bison near in on Coventry qualification

The Sherfield School Basingstoke Bison need just one more point to qualify for the play-off finals weekend with two group games left to play.

First up is the mouth watering visit from the Milton Keynes Lightning to Basingstoke on Saturday night, in a game which starts at 6.30pm.

The visitors have yet to win in Hampshire this season, being beaten on all three of their visits in the regular season and the Herd will also been keen to avenge last weekend's 4-3 loss in MK.

The Lightning so far have a 100 per cent record in the play-offs and lead the way with eight points, with the Herd just behind on six, so this clash will go a long way to deciding who is going to finish top of the group.

Saturday night is also the Bison's final game on home ice this season and they would love to end with a victory.

Bison head coach Doug Sheppard said: "We are now almost there to Coventry and we want to finish the job off on home ice in front of our own fans.

"They have been really great all season, with the support they have showed, so I hope we can get one last win on home ice for them."

Tickets for what is sure to be a great finale to the season in Basingstoke are still available from box office on (01256) 355266 or the Bison website.

On Sunday night, the Bison complete their Group B play-off fixtures with a trip to the Swindon Wildcats.
