Bison Sign Hockey Legend

The Sherfield School Basingstoke Bison are pleased to announce the signing of British forward Ashley Jackson.

This will be the 29-year-old's first season with the Herd, having been signed from the Invicta Dynamos.

He will certainly add even more firepower, to what is already a very good looking offensive unit.

Born in Tunbridge Wells, Jackson played in the Invicta junior system and scored on his senior debut for the Gillingham-based side in 2014.

Last season, he was their top British points scorer with 53 from 34 games, which saw him hit the net 26 times.

Now making his mark in the world of ice hockey, Jackson is a field hockey legend, being England and Great Britain's all-time leading scorer.

In total he scored 133 international goals from 234 appearances and also played in the last four Olympics.

Bison head coach Doug Sheppard is delighted with his latest signing and said: "Ashley has played sport at the highest level and will bring so much to this team. He was a proven scorer last season and I feel he is another excellent signing for this club."
