As the on-ice recruitment progresses in earnest Coach Tait has always been looking at how best to shape the coaching side of the organisation and with this in mind, the Basingstoke Bison are delighted to announce that Tony “Tosh” Redmond will be joining the Herd as Assistant Coach and will be in charge of running the bench on match nights.

Dan's the man for Bison

The Sherfield School Basingstoke Bison are pleased to announce the re-signing of British forward Daniel Lackey.

He is the sixth Basingstoke-born player to sign for the Herd this summer and will add a bit more toughness to the forward line.

The 27-year-old was a defenceman until a few season ago, but now will add some more offensive clout to the Herd.

Last season, he scored two goals and four assists from 50 games as his points tally did not reflect his worth to the team.
Having come through the Bison junior set-up, he made his Bison debut in season 2009/10 and scored his first senior goal in the EPL in 2011.

He moved up from the Buffalo, where he collected over 120 points as a defenceman being the leading goal scoring blue liner two seasons running, in the Herd's league championship winning campaign of 2015/16.

Bison head coach Doug Sheppard said: "Dan has a great work ethic and plays a bit more physical than some of our other forwards. He is a great two way player and I think he will do well for us this season."

Returning Lackey said: "Basingstoke is the club I always want to play for and I will be looking to get more goals this season for sure. We don't know what this league is going to be like this season, but having won a league title before I would love to do it again."
