Weekend Preview - Just the one game this weekend

The Sherfield School Basingstoke Bison have a single game weekend which sees them hosting the Bracknell Bees in a National Cup game on Saturday.

The Herd have been through a severe injury crisis at the start of the season and that’s hurt their form in this competition but with still a mathematical chance to qualify and just one game in the weekend it’ll be all out intensity as the Bison look to keep alive their recent good form.

Bracknell secured a 5-2 win last time they were in Hampshire and Head Coach Doug Sheppard is aware of the task ahead. He said; “We have one game this weekend and it’s a local derby. We know we can’t underestimate Bracknell even with Bakrlik, Spearing and Thompson out. They’ve had a few rough results of late so will be looking to come out strong. They’ll be hungry for a repeat of their last visit here.

Last weekend we got Josh Smith back and Stuart Mogg skated the home ice warm up”, he continued. “We’re expecting Mogg back in the line up this weekend which will greatly help our ‘D’ that’s being playing short for a while now. We need a good start and to put in a good 60 minutes for our home fans.

Bison’s only home game of the weekend is Saturday night, 6.30pm at the Basingstoke Arena.

The Herd can also announced that the ever popular Teddy Bear Toss has it’s date set now for 2017 with the bears getting aired on December 2nd. We’ll have full details coming shortly across our social media feeds so get following our Twitter and Instagram and like our Facebook if you haven’t already.
