Klejna Joins The Herd

With the exclusive announcement of the herd becoming the “Trane sponsored Basingstoke Bison” yesterday, the good news keeps on coming.

The fans of the Herd have been voting on social media and with a margin of one vote the overseas player announcement wins it - thank you to all who voted.

The Trane Basingstoke Bison are pleased to confirm that Michal Klejna a Slovakian native has been engaged for the forthcoming season as our second overseas player.

30 year old, 6’1” tall Michal arrives in Basingstoke from the French 2 league where last season he played for Cholet scoring 11 points in 25 games. Prior to his season in Cholet he iced for La Rocje Sur Yon and 3 seasons with Mulhouse. Michal’s hockey CV includes time playing in the Czech leagues where he has iced for HK 36 Skalica, HC Chrudim and HC Parudice. He also iced in the OHL in Canada for 2 seasons with Brampton Battalion and represented Slovakia in the World Junior championships at U18 level.

On joining the Trane sponsored Basingstoke Bison Michal commented, “I am very happy to be joining the Bison and can’t wait to get started, coach has told me all about the fans and how loud they support us. I look forward to arriving in England”.

Coach Tait on securing his second overseas player said, “I think Michal is a great addition for us. He's got great leadership and experience as he's played in various leagues in Europe and also spent time in North America. He can play on the wing or in the middle and I've got a guy I know will be dependable whatever the situation is on the ice”.

As Michal is a new player for the Bison, after 48 hours all applications will be reviewed and if necessary a Facebook Live draw will be organised where Coach Tait will pick out the winners.
