After this weekend’s 10 – 4 aggregate victory over Streatham we can confirm that your Trane sponsored Basingstoke Bison semi final Play Off series will be against the Peterborough Phantoms.

Our home leg will be played on Saturday 30th March 2019 with face off being at our usual time of 6.30pm.

Weekend Preview: Dynamos & The Bees for Bison

This weekend see the Bison back to two games in a weekend with a home game versus the Invicta dynamos and away in Bracknell. Fans of the Herd will be eagerly anticipating this weekend and the date would no doubt have been marked in the diary when the fixtures were released

Saturday night sees the Trane sponsored Basingstoke Bison welcome the Invicta Dynamos for their first visit of the year.
The game starts at 6.30pm with doors opening at 5.30pm.

The Bison will be without netminder Dan Weller Evans as he continues his rehabilitation from a groin injury.

Looking ahead to the weekend games Bison player/coach Ashley Tait said: “We played great last weekend when shutting out the Thunder and we know that’s exactly how we expect to play week in week out. Ashley continued,” fans will certainly be looking forwards to Sundays away game but as coaches and a team we are just looking at it as 2 points to gain – titles aren’t defended in October.

Three to watch for the Thunder:
Ondrej Zosiak – Defence –the experienced Slovak defenceman was born in Zvolen and came through their junior programme and in 2010/11 made his senior debut for this home town team. In the same season, he was also loaned out to HK Detva in the second tier in Slovakia and did the same the following year. Between 2012 and end of 2014 / 15 season he played in Slovakia, Poland and Austria.

In the autumn of 2015, Ondrej joined Invicta and in his first year in South One returned 25 points from 36 games and received the accolade of being in the league’s first all-time team.He did the same thing, the following season as Invicta were crowned play-off champions.

Ondrej is now in his fourth season with Invicta and is a major part of the Gillingham-based side’s blue line core. He moves the puck well and now has over 100 games at this level and 52 points.

Matt Foord – Forward – Matt was born in High Wycombe and made his senior debut back in season 98/99 for the Slough Jets for 7 seasons. He then moved to the Elite League with the London Racers, the Cardiff Devils and the Nottingham Panthers. He has played in the EPIHL for Slough, Swindon and Bracknell. He has been in Bracknell a total of 11 seasons, 7 of them from 2011 / 12 to 2017 / 18 where he was the captain for the past four years prior to his move last summer to Invicta.

Martin Susters – Forward – Martin was born in Riga, Latvia but came to the UK and played all his Junior hockey in the Nottingham. Peterborough and Sheffield programmes which qualifies Martin as a British player in the NIHL. In two seasons in the EPIHL whilst playing for the Peterborough Phantoms Martin returned 53 points scoring in 91 games. He played for MK Riga last season and also Latvia’s under-20s international side.

On Sunday the game in Bracknell faces off at 6pm.
