Norcliffe Back for Bison on 2 Year DealAs exclusively revealed earlier today in the Basingstoke Gazette, the Trane sponsored Basingstoke Bison are pleased to welcome back, British forward George Norcliffe.
George who at the End of Season Awards dinner won the accolade of “Most Improved Player of the Season” has re-signed for the Herd on a two-year deal as Coach Tait looks to build his roster for the future.
A product of the Guildford junior system, he made his National Ice Hockey League debut in the 2012 / 13 season icing for the Solent and Gosport Devils before moving to the Wightlink Raiders, Streatham and Bracknell Bees prior to icing for the Bison last term.
On re-signing for 2 years with the Bison George said, “I’m really excited to back we came so close to picking up Silverware last season and we’ll be working hard to win one next season. I’ve really enjoyed my year with the Bison and it really was the only place I wanted to play next year. I can’t wait to get back out on the ice in front of our noisy and passionate fans”.
Bison player/coach Ashley Tait commented, “It's great that we've been able to secure George for another 2 years. We've always seen this as more than just a one-year project and that fact we can bring him back on a multi-year is great news.
Ashley continued, “I believe we only saw a fraction of what he's capable of last year and that's the exciting part. His potential is huge and I'm excited to be working on getting that from him on a weekly basis!”
George will once again wear Jersey number 16 for the Bison and his home and away jerseys will be available shortly through our ever popular ‘Own and Loan’ scheme.
