WEEKEND PREVIEW: Sunday Home Game for the Herd versus Swindon

Itís a one game NIHL National League weekend for the Trane Basingstoke Bison, with a Sunday visit from the Swindon Wildcats, face off is 5.30pm.

Wildcats player/coach Aaron Nell brings his team to the Silverdome for the first time this season, currently sitting in 2nd place and unbeaten in their last 4 games.

Captained by the long serving Sam Bullas, Swindon contain some serious firepower including, Tomas Malasinski 8 goals from 8 appearances, Edgars Bebris 7 from 8 and Nell himself leading the way with 10 from 8. With this attack the defence is often overlooked, however players such as Stevie Whitfield, Neil Liddiard and net minder Renny Marr, help to provide a reliable base for their forwards.

Although Floyd Taylor leads their penalty minutes with 20, as a team they have incurred the fewest in the league.

Swindon finished last season as NIHL 1 Champions, winning on 32 occasions from a total of 42 games, and are tipped by many as favourites this time around, therefore they will present a sizeable challenge to the Bison.
