Wildcats at the Arena on Boxing Day

The Trane Basingstoke Bison are in Boxing Day NIHL National league action this Thursday, when they take on the Swindon Wildcats at the Silverdome, face off is 6.30pm.

Swindon currently sit in 2nd place, 9 points behind leaders Telford, albeit with a game in hand.
Much like the Bison, Swindon are going through a bit of a lean spell at present, with just 2 wins from their last 6 games, which is somewhat difficult to understand when they have such an array of offensive talent, including the leagues top points scorer Tomas Malasinski with 50 (16+34) and top goal scorer Aaron Nell, with 25, who also has 22 assists to his name.
Back stopped by top British net minder Renny Marr, and with the likes of Neil Liddiard, Stevie Whitfield and Tyler Plews in defence, it is surprising to see they have conceded 29 goals during the those 6 games.
They are however, the most disciplined team in terms of penalty minutes conceded, just 339 in 26 games, Liddiard with 55 and Whitfield with 40 mins respectively, lead the way on this front.

The series between the teams is tied at one win apiece, Wildcats winning 5-3 in Basingstoke and the Herd coming away from the Link Centre with a 4-2 victory. Therefore another close and exciting encounter is anticipated by both sets of supporters.
