WEEKEND PREVIEW: Bees in Town For Our Only Game this Weekend

For the Trane Sponsored Basingstoke Bison itís a single game weekend in the NIHL National League, with the Bracknell Bees making the short trip down the M3 to the Silverdome on Saturday, face off is 6.30pm, with Sunday being a well earned rest after our Christmas period exploits.

Bracknell come into the game occupying 8th place, this sees them 8 pts adrift of 7th placed Sheffield Steeldogs, although with a game in hand on the Yorkshire side, whilst being 2 pts ahead of Raiders who have played a game more than Bracknell.

Bees recent form shows wins at home to Leeds Chiefs and Peterborough Phantoms, the latter being a 4-3 score line from 0-2 down, while suffering losses on the road to Leeds, MKL and Swindon.

Import forward Dominik Gabaj, who joined the Hive based team in mid November, leads their points scoring with 34 (18+16) from just 15 games, while former Bison Roman Malinik has 32 (17+15) from 31 games and the top Brit for Bracknell is Zack MIlton with 29 points (8+21) from 27 games.

The Bees have incurred 655 penalty minutes from 32 games, with only MKL (809) and Raiders (728) having picked up more minutes. Brendan Baird with 84 and Josh Martin with 83 lead the way in this area.

Games between the 2 teams are generally fast paced, exciting and often feisty affairs, where form can count for little on the night, hopefully a packed arena will be treated to a typical local derby.
