Further to the briefing note issued by Basingstoke Council on the 24th June 2020 Planet ice felt it was appropriate to expand on the contents of the note and are delighted that all of the parties involved are keen to work together to overcome the historic obstacles and to obtain a positive outcome for the communities of Basingstoke and the surrounding area.

WEEKEND PREVIEW: It's Going To Be A Wild Weekend with Back to Back Games with Cats

Itís a Swindon double header weekend for the Trane Basingstoke Bison as they take on the Wildcats in the NIHL National league, firstly at the Silverdome on Saturday night, face off is 6.30pm, and travel to the Link Centre in Swindon on Sunday, where the face off is 6.15pm.

Saturdayís game which is sponsored by the Ark Cancer Charity, sees the Bison welcome 2nd placed Swindon to town for the third time this season.

Currently the Wildcats are 5 points adrift of league leaders Telford Tigers with both teams having played 41 games. As with the Bison, Swindonís recent league form has been a touch inconsistent with wins against Leeds(away) and Raiders (home) mixed in with losses to Phantoms(away) and Bracknell (home & away).

Wildcats leading points scorers are Aaron Nell with 77 (37+40) from 41 games, Tomasz Malasinski 66 (23+43) from 37 and Chris Jones 58 (26+32) from 41.
Their total of 534 penalty minutes is the lowest in the league, Neil Liddiard with 79 and Floyd Taylor with 59 have accrued the highest individual minutes out of that total.

On the previous 4 occasions these teams have met each other this season, the Herd have been successful in 3 of them, with all four games turning out to be nail biters, especially the last two which both needed penalties to decide the outcome, therefore both sets of supporters will no doubt be expecting this weekend to produce another couple of crackers.

The final pair of games are scheduled for Friday 6th and Saturday 7th of March, with the Herd being at home on the Friday night.
