The GalxC Cooling Services sponsored Basingstoke Bison are delighted to confirm the news announced earlier today by the Basingstoke Gazette, namely Aidan Doughty has re-signed with the Bison for the 2022/23 season.

26 year old Doughty made 54 League and cup appearances for the Herd last season, racking up 57 points (32+25).

His gritty physical style, along with an eye for a goal has endeared Aidan to the Bison faithful, who no doubt will be looking forward to more of the same starting in September.

Head Coach Tait had this to say regarding Doughty’s return,

“Doughts was high on my list this summer and  is another guy I feel started to fulfil the potential I had seen him. When he keeps it simple and plays his game he’s a force that’s pretty unstoppable at times”.

“I think if he can maintain that consistency we’ll see him move into the 30 goal a season area”.

While Aidan himself commented,

“I’m really happy to sign back with the bison, and I hope to hit the ground running”.

“Last season was full of ups and downs, I feel as a team we deserved so much more . this season I know we will be showing more of the talent we have and give everything”.

“I can’t wait to put a bison jersey on again and play in front of the best fans in the league, see you in September”.
