As exclusively revealed this morning by Gaham Merry in the Basingstoke Gazette, your GalxC Cooling Services sponsored Basingstoke Bison are pleased to announce a re-signing that will not only thrill fans of the Stampede, but in particular one member of the Bison media team………………yes, George ‘Gordon’ Norcliffe will be pulling on the number 16 jersey for a 4th season.
28 year old, 6’ 2” forward Norcliffe, joined us from the Bracknell Bees in 2018 and has since made over 120 appearances, he quickly became a fans favourite with his speedy all action style of play, always willing to go the extra mile for the team, no doubt George will again be leading by example in the forthcoming season.
Head Coach Tait has this to say regarding Norcliffe’s re-signing,
“George returning is great news for us and essential for us to move forward. I think if you look at his progression over the last 3/4 years, he’s become a more consistent player all round and Whilst I know his offensive capabilities have increased I’m excited to see where we can take that to”.
George himself commented on being back with Herd said,
“I’m really excited to be back in Basingstoke. Ultimately, I want to win, and I have full confidence in the team Ash is putting together. Last year was a tough season for us, but we showed we can beat anyone. The fans are the best, and they deserve silverware. So I’m excited, and expect big things from us this year, and I’m going to do all I can to play my part in the teams success”.
