Another new day dawns and we have another Bison re-signing for you all, todays announcement is another returnee none other than Mr Irn Bru himself, Defenceman Jay King.

The 25 year old who was born in Edinburgh, stands at 5’ 10” tall, weighs 79 kg and shoots right handed.

Before joining the Bison in September 2018, King had played all of his hockey in his native Scotland, predominantly for the Edinburgh Capitals in the EIHL, where his career spanned 6 seasons, making in excess of 260 appearances.

Since becoming a member of the Herd, King has iced in 88 games, scoring 4 goals and providing 24 assists, while incurring 103 penalty minutes.

Jay quickly became a fans favourite, not just for his hockey but also for his post game on-ice dancing antics, with his signature dance being the Macarena.

Jay commented on re-signing for the Bison said,

“I’m really excited to be back in Basingstoke for another year and can’t wait to get back on the ice and get things rolling again, to hear the Bison wall of sound is something I have definitely missed and I’m looking forward to hearing it”.

Coach Tait commenting on the return of Jay said,

Jay is a big part of our d corp and bringing him back was never a question. He’s a natural skater and I expect to see a continued improvement again this year”.

Jay will once again wear the number 77 jersey for the Herd in 2021 / 22 and his light, dark and home warm-up jerseys are now available for supporters to have the opportunity to purchase and loan back to the club Jay’s jersey through our ever popular Jersey “Own & Loan” scheme, if you are interested in applying for one of Jay’s jerseys please send your application to hello@bstokebison.co.uk
